Visitors to Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby, Yorkshire, are often attracted to this large R.N.L.I. codfish collecting box which stands at the approach to the beach. Mr.

W. E. Russell is the honorary volunteer emptier of this unusual collecting box—a cast-iron codfish which was given by the late Captain and Mrs. Isaac Mills for this purpose.
