Miss Alice Johnston, who lives in Sussex, it can now be disclosed, gave £25,000 towards the cost of the 52-foot prototype Arun class life-boat which was depicted on page 109 of the July Journal. On 7th July Miss Johnston, who is 83, was taken for a half-hour trip aboard her from Littlehampton.

Miss Johnston has already given over£100,000 to charities..
