The late Coxswain Theodor T. L. Neilson of Wells received the thanks of the R.N.L.I, inscribed on vellum for searching for a crashed Lancaster bomber off the Norfolk coast on 14th July, 1942, and (below) a reproduction of the painting by L. F. Gilding showing the Royal Silver Jubilee 1910-1935 alongside the sinking bomber with the coxswain standing on the wing. The painting was based on details provided by the life-boat crew..
