THE FIRST LONGHOPE SERVICE SINCE NIGHT OF TRAGEDY THE Longhope, Orkney, life-boat Hilton Briggs, which was sent to the re-opened station following the disaster on 17th March, 1969, in which the entire life-boat crew lost their lives, made her first service from there on 23rd June last year. It was to take a sick man to Kirkwall for urgent hospital treatment. The Hilton Briggs— a 52-foot Barnett life-boat—set out at 11.10 p.m.
