Coxswain Robert Lee, of the Douglas, l.o.M., life-boat fl. A ColbyGubbinNo.2. Appointed coxswain in April, 1950, he had been a member of the crew for many years. Coxswain Lee's grandfather was bowman until he was lost at sea while fishing, his father was coxswain for many years, and now his eldest son Richard is Second Mechanic at Douglas.

Coxswain Lee retires in September. He was awarded the B.E.M. this year..
