Samary

Lowestoft, Suffolk - At 8.54 p.m. on 14th November, 1969, a report wasreceived that white flares had been sighted about one mile south of the coastguard look out. The life-boat Julia Park Barry of Glasgow, on temporary duties at the station, slipped her moorings at 9 o'clock in a strong southerly wind with a rough sea. It was one hour after low water.

At 9.14 she came up with the fishing boat Samary which had engine failure.

The Samary had a crew of two. The life-boat took her in tow to harbour and returned to her station at 9.40..
