Two's Company and Martlett

New Brighton, Cheshire - At 1.16 p.m.

on 3rd August, 1969, the police informed the coxswain that the yachts Two's Company and Martlett, each with a crew of two, were in difficulties near Rock Channel off New Brighton.

The life-boat Norman B. Corlett slipped her moorings at 1.25 in a fresh west by north wind with a moderate sea. The tide was flooding.

She came up with the Two's Company at 1.37 and rescued her crew while a beach patrol boat picked up the crew of the Martlett. The life-boat then took both yachts in tow to New Brighton stage, returning to her station at 2.35..
