Siveen
At 3.55 p.m. on 22nd June, 1969, Valentia radio informed the honorary secretary that a fishing vessel was in difficulties off Beenacry head.
At 4.5 the life-boat Rowland Watts slipped her moorings. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat came up with the fishing vessel Siveen with a crew of five on board. Her anchor rope had fouled her propeller. The reserve life-boat Peter and Sarah Blake, on passage to Valentia, had also picked up the distress call, and she now came up to give assistance. With the aid of both life-boat crews the anchor rope was cut, and the Rowland Watts towed the Siveen to Caherciveen, returning to station at 6.50..
