St. David's, Pembrokeshire - At 11.50 p.m. on 10th July, 1969, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a red flare had been seen two miles south west of St.

David's head. The life-boat JosephSoar (Civil Service No. 34) was launched at 12.9 a.m. on llth July.

It was low water. She came up with the yacht Saoirse drifting three quarters of a mile north east of South Bishop lighthouse. Her crew of two were taken on board the lifeboat and the yacht was towed to St. David's. The life-boat returned to her station at 2 o'clock..
