Monrose

Rhyl, Flintshire - At 7.29 a.m. on 31st August, 1969, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that a sick man aboard the motor vessel Monrose needed medical attention.

The IRB, with a doctor on board, was launched at 7.55 in a moderate west north westerly wind with a corresponding sea. It was shortly before low water. The doctor found that the man had had a severe heart attack. The life-boat Har-Lil waslaunched at 8.26. She came up with the fishing vessel about one mile from the boathouse and the sick man was taken on board by stretcher.

He was landed at Rhyl and later taken to hospital by ambulance. The IRB returned to her station at 8.10, the life-boat at 9.25..
