Dover, Kent - At 7.10 p.m. on 5th July, 1969, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a yacht was in difficulties and drifting towards the Goodwin sands. At 7.22 the life-boat Faithful Forester was launched. It was three hours afterhigh water. She came up with the auxiliary yacht Argus, with a crew of seven on board, one mile east of Dover harbour. The yacht's engine had broken down. She was taken in tow to Dover, and the life-boat returned to her station at 7.50..
