Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin - At 2.27 p.m. on 22nd August, 1969, the Baily lighthouse keeper told the honorary secretary that a yacht with two people on board was in difficulties off Rosbeg buoy. The life-boat John F. Kennedy slipped her moorings at 2.33 in a fresh north westerly wind with a choppy sea. The tide was flooding. The life-boat came up with the yacht at 2.46. Her rudder was broken and the crew were clinging to the buoy. They were taken on board the life-boat, and the yacht was taken in tow to Dun Laoghaire. The lifeboat returned to her station at 3.42..
