Mr. Bruce Fleet, secretary of the Margate life-boat, presenting a plaque in March, 1969, commemorating the service of the R.A.F. helicopters at Mansion, Kent. Mr. Fleet made the presentation on behalf of Coxswain Alf Manning and the crew of the local life-boat. The helicopter squadron in question—No. 22— had operated at Manston for eight years and was this year withdrawn for service elsewhere..
