Dover, Kent - At 7.40 a.m. on 26th May, 1969, Dover harbour board control tower informed the honorary secretary that a yacht was in difficulties two and a half miles south west of Dover. At 7.55 the life-boat Faithful Forester slipped her moorings in a west south westerly wind of near gale force. The sea was rough and it was one hour after high water.

The life-boat came up with the yacht Lora, with a crew of four on board,which had collided with an unidentified vessel and was out of control.

The life-boat took her in tow to Dover and returned to her station at 9.30..
