Kullyak
Aith, Shetland - At 9.50 p.m. on 4th April, 1969, the honorary secretary learnt that the fishing boat Kullyak, with a crew of two, was overdue at Burrafirth. The life-boat John and Frances Macfarlane slipped her moorings at 10.13 in a moderate south westerly breeze with a rough sea.
The tide was flooding. The life-boat came up with the Kullyak at 11.25 half a mile west of the Nean. Her engine had broken down. She was taken in tow to Aith, and the lifeboat returned to her station at 12.35 a.m. on 5th April..
