Tikokino

At 2.28 p.m. on 12th July, 1968, the east pier watchman informed the honorary secretary that a dismasted yacht was drifting eastwards off Ramsgate harbour. The life-boat Cecil and Lilian Philpott, on temporary duty at the station, slipped her moorings at 2.35 in a moderate south south westerly wind with a smooth sea. The tide was ebbing.

The life-boat came up with the yacht Tikokino and took her crew of two on board. With the yacht in tow the life-boat returned to her station at 3.9..
