Appledore, Devon - At 7.16 p.m. on 12th April, 1968, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that two boys were stranded on the rocks on the south side of Baggy point. The lifeboat Louisa Anne Hawker with the boarding boat in tow slipped her moorings at 7.24. It was shortly after high water. At 8.20 the life-boat reached the scene and the boys were taken by the boarding boat to the life-boat which landed them at Croyde. The life-boat returned to her station at 9.25..
