NN157

Shoreham Harbour, Sussex - At 3.58 p.m. on 1st April, 1968, news was received that a fishing vessel was making distress signals half a mile east of the east breakwater. The lifeboat Dorothy and Philip Constant was launched at 4.3 in a fresh south westerly wind gusting to gale force with a moderate sea. The tide was ebbing.

The life-boat came up with the fishing vessel NN157 and found that her nets had fouled the propeller.

The vessel, with a crew of two on board, was taken in tow and the lifeboat returned to her station at 4.40..
