Centenaries

In October, 1967, the Stromness life-boat station celebrated its centenary.

The Duke of Atholl, Convener of the Scottish Life-boat Council, presented a vellum on behalf of the Council to the Stromness ladies' life-boat guild, and at a church service on the following evening, 15th October, the Duke handed over the centenary vellum on behalf of the Committee of Management.

On 6th August, 1967, Falmouth celebrated its centenary, the vellum being presented to the branch by Lt.-Cmdr. The Hon. Greville Howard, V.R.D., R.D.R., a vice-president of the Institution and a member of the Committee of Management.

Bembridge's centenary vellum was handed over by the then Chairman of the R.N.L.I., Capt. The Hon. V. M. Wyndham-Quin, R.N., on 17th August, 1967..
