The life-boat Deneys Reitz slipped her moorings at 4.42 in a moderate west north westerly breeze and a choppy sea. The tide was flooding.

The life-boat rescued the crew of two and took the dinghy in tow to Fowey harbour. The life-boat returned to her station at 5.30..
