Life-boat 70-001. Bristol Channel - At 6.35 p.m. on the zyth July, 1967, the coxswain intercepted a message from Ilfracombe radio to the yacht Vincente which had requested assistance. The lifeboat Charles H. Barrett (Civil Service No.

35} slipped her moorings at 6.40 in a fresh south westerly breeze and a slight sea.

The tide was flooding. The coastguard informed the life-boat that the yacht was in a position five miles north east of Lundy island. The life-boat found the casualty at 8.35 and took her in tow to a safe anchorage. A sick man was transferred to the life-boat and taken to Ilfracombe.

The life-boat returned to her moorings at 12.5 a.m. on 28th July..
