At 2.12 p.m. on 24th June, 1967, two small boats were reported in difficulties off Selsey Bill. The larger of the two boats was trying to help the smaller one, a 10- foot fibre glass dinghy, with a crew of two The life-boat Canadian Pacific was launched at 2.31 in a strong south easterly breeze and a moderate sea. The tide was flooding. The life-boat rescued the two men from the small dinghy and took her in tow. The life-boat stood by until the larger boat had safely rounded Selsey Bill, and then returned to her station which was reached at 3.50..
