Torrocks II

Selsey, Sussex - At 7.30 p.m. on 14th August, 1967, the coastguard reported that a yacht, which had been under observation in Love Channel, had turned north instead of continuing on course for Portsmouth or Chichester harbour, and was now 300 yards off Bracklesham. She was kept under observation for another 40 minutes when it was seen that she was in difficulties. The lifeboat Canadian Pacific was launched at 8.18 in a strong west south westerly breeze and a rough sea. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat took the yacht Tarrocks II, which had engine trouble, in tow to Portsmouth. There were four people on board. The life-boat returned to her station at 3.20 a.m. on ifth August..
