Sea Mist

Lowestoft, Suffolk - At 5.33 p.m.

on igth August, 1967, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a small yacht half a mile east of the harbour entrance had run aground and had fired distress signals. The life-boat Frederick Edward Crick slipped her moorings at 5.42 in a moderate north easterly breeze and a choppy sea. The tide was flooding.

The life-boat found the yacht Sea Mist with five people on board a quarter of a mile south of the harbour entrance.

She had refloated and the life-boat escorted her to Lowestoft harbour.
