St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly - At 7.20 p.m. on 22nd July, 1967, it was learnt that a ketch was in difficulties trying to roundthe Garrison from St. Mary's sound. The life-boat Thomas McCunn, on temporary duty at the station, was launched at 7.32 in a strong northerly breeze and a moderate sea. It was high water. The life-boat took the ketch Nova Espero, with two people on board, in tow and brought her alongside St. Mary's quay. The life-boat returned to her station at 8.39..
