Tynemouth, Northumberland - At 9.35 p.m. on loth June, 1967, a small boat was seen in distress off Whitley Bay.

The life-boat Tynesider was launched at 9.59 in a slight north easterly breeze and a smooth sea. The tide was ebbing. At 10.20 the life-boat found the small motor boat, Happy Wanderer, with her engine broken down, drifting towards St. Mary's Island. There were four people and a dog on board. The life-boat took the boat in tow and returned to her station at 12.30 a.m. on nth June..
