Sundcrland, Co. Durham - At 12.47 p.m. on 4th June, 1967, news was received that a motor fishing vessel two to three miles off Sunderland was flying distress signals. At 1.6 the life-boat William Myers and Sarah Jane Myers was launched in a strong westerly breeze and a rough sea. The tide was flooding. There were eight men and a boy on board the fishing vessel named Ann. Her engine had been swamped by a heavy sea. The occupants were taken on board the lifeboat and the fishing vessel taken in tow.

The life-boat returned to her station at 2.40..
