A Yacht (5)

Clacton-on-Sea, Essex - At 11.29 a.m. on 29th August, 1967, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a yacht was aground on the West Barrow sands. The life-boat Sir Godfrey Baring was launched at 11.45 in a gentlewesterly breeze and a choppy sea. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat stood by until the yacht refloated. After confirming that she had suffered no damage the life-boat returned to her station at 4.1 p.m..
