A Vessel

Lytham-St. Anne's, Lancashire - At 1.20 p.m. on 24th July, 1967, information was received that a small vessel anchored half a mile north of St. Anne's pier appeared to be in difficulties. The IRB was launched first but as she appeared to be making heavy weather the life-boat Sarah Townsend Porritt proceeded at 2 o'clock. There was a strong west south westerly wind and a rough sea.

It was half an hour to high water. She stood by as the IRB went alongside the anchored boat and, seeing she was in no danger, the life-boat returned to her station at 4.15..
