A Motor Boat

Valentia, Co. Kerry - At 8.50 p.m. on 22nd June, 1967, the Mizen Head lighthouse keeper informed the honorary secretary that a motor boat was broken down close to the Skelligs Rock. The lifeboat Rowland Watts slipped her moorings at 9.10 in a light northerly wind and a moderate sea. The tide was ebbing. The seven people aboard the casualty had landed on the Skelligs Rock. They were taken on board the life-boat and the motor boat was taken in tow to Valentia.

The life-boat returned to her moorings at 1.15 a.m. on 23rd June..
