At 7.15 a.m. on 24th June, 1967, a report was received that a small dinghy had capsized with three people on board.

The life-boat John F.Kennedy slipped her moorings at 7.33 in a fresh south south westerly wind and a choppy sea. The dinghy was found with the crew of three clinging to it. They were taken aboard the life-boat and given first aid treatment.

The life-boat returned to her moorings at 7.55..
