Stronsay, Orkneys - At 4.15 p.m. on 3rd March, 1967, news was received that a sick child at North Ronaldsay required immediate hospital attention. The patient was embarked on the life-boat The John Gellatly Hyndman which slipped her mooring at 4.30 in a strong west south westerly wind and a moderate sea. It was high water. She proceeded to Kirkwall and transferred the patient to an ambulance.

The life-boat arrived back at Stronsay at 2.10 a.m. on 4th March, 1967..
