Anstruther, Fife - At 4.36 p.m. on i6th March, 1967, a message was received that the wife of one of the light-keepers on May Island required urgent medical attention. The life-boat The Doctors launched at 4.50 with a doctor on board.

There was a fresh west north westerly breeze and moderate sea. The tide was flooding. Owing to the critical conditionof the patient it was decided to take her to hospital at Crail by helicopter. The lifeboat returned to her station at 7.20..
