Life-boat 70-002 at the Mumbles - At 4.15 p.m. on 23rd April, 1967, while rounding Mumbles Head on exercise, the coxswain of the life-boat Grace Paterson Ritchie noticed four people cut off by the tide on Lighthouse Island. There was a light westerly wind and a slight sea. It was two hours before high water. The IRB, which is carried aboard the life-boat, was launched and took off the stranded people.
