Faust

At 1.57 p.m. on 3rd May, 1967, it was reported that a dinghy with a crew of two had capsized in Swanage Bay. The lifeboat R.L.P. was launched at 2.8 in a strong south westerly wind and a choppy sea. It was three hours before high water.

The sailing dinghy Faust was reached at 2.16 and the two boys who made up thecrew were taken aboard the life-boat. As the stern buoyancy bag had broken adrift it was not possible to right the dinghy. The dinghy was towed to the boathouse and beached close by. The boys, having been given a hot drink, changed their clothes at the sailing club and returned home. The life-boat returned to her station at 3.10..
