North Sunderland, Northumberland - At 12.7 p.m. on I4th September, 1966, three small sailing craft were seen in difficulties in Newton Bay. They were unable to make the shore because of the strong offshore wind which was freshening.

She proceeded to Newton Bay and took elevenpeople off the three craft belonging to the Newton Nautical Centre, and put them ashore. The life-boat towed the three craft to the shore where they were beached, and returned to her station at 2.15..
