Seruta, of Caernarvon

Beaumaris, Anglesey - At 5 p.m. on 12th November, 1966, it was reported that a distress signal had been flashed from a boat, about one and a half miles north west of Puffin Island. The lifeboat Field Marshall and Mrs. Smuts was launched at 5.17. It was two hours after low water. She proceeded to the position indicated, and, by using both parachute flares and searchlight, located the motor boat Seruta, of Caernarvon, whose engine had broken down. The life-boat towed the Seruta to Beaumaris, arriving back on station at 7 o'clock..
