Seafarer (1)

At 1.50 p.m. on 20th October, 1966, a longshore boat was seen burning a red flare off Pakefield beach, two miles north of Lowestoft harbour entrance. The lifeboat Frederick Edward Crick slipped her moorings ten minutes later in a fresh southerly wind and a moderate sea. She proceeded to the position stated and found the motor fishing vessel Seafarer whose propeller had been fouled by some of her own gear. The life-boat secured a line to the Seafarer and towed her back to harbour.

The Frederick Edward Crick returned to her station at 3.15..
