Galway Bay - At 1.30 p.m. on 2nd October, 1966, the local doctor reported that a woman with a heart complaint required to be taken from Inishmaan Island to hospital. The life-boat Mabel Marion Thompson slipped her moorings at 2.30 and proceeded to Inishmaan where the patient was embarked.
