A Yacht

New Quay, Cardiganshire - At 4.49 p.m. on 3rd September, 1966, a message was received that a yacht was in distress and burning flares. At 5.5 the life-boat St. Albans was launched in a fresh south south westerly wind and a rough sea.

It was low water. The life-boat proceeded to the yacht but had to leave the casualty in the care of a motor boat while she towed another boat which had run out of fuel into harbour. The yacht was takenin tow by the motor boat and the lifeboat returned to her station arriving at 6.59..
