Two Canoes

At 11.44 a-m' on 4tn August, 1966, it was reported that two canoes had capsized off Rhoscalyn head. At 11.58 the life-boat St. Cybi (Civil Service No. p), with a boarding boat in tow, was launched.

It was four and a half hours after low water, there was a moderate west north westerly wind and a rough sea. After ascertaining that the two occupants of the canoes had safely reached the shore the canoes were taken on board, and the lifeboat returned to her station at 2.47. A helicopter was also alerted..
