The Converted Whaler Searanger

Barry Dock, Glamorganshire - At 1.40 p.m. on 7th August, 1966, news wasreceived that a boat had been swamped off Lavernock Point and her three occupants were in the water. At 1.50 the life-boat Rachel and Mary Evans was launched in a strong westerly wind. It was three hours after high water. The life-boat found the converted whaler Searanger one mile mile west of Sully Island. Her three occupants had been rescued by helicopter.
