Silver Stream

At 8.22 p.m. on 20th August, 1966, a small fishing boat was reported in difficulties off the Island of Cava. There was a light north westerly breeze with a calm sea. The tide was flooding. The lifeboat Archibald and Alexander M. Paterson launched at 8.30 and proceeded to the position given. The life-boat found the fishing vessel Silver Stream at anchor with engine failure. The Silver Stream was taken in tow and brought to Stromness.

The life-boat arrived back at her station at 10.17..
