Pandora, of Dublin

Newcastle, Co. Down - At 3.8 p.m.

on 9th August, 1966, a flare was reported to have been fired from a yacht one mile south of Newcastle harbour. At 3.15 the life-boat William and Laura was launched in a southerly gale and a rough sea. It was three hours after low water. The yacht Pandora of Dublin, with three people on board, was towed into harbour by the life-boat. She returned to her station at 4 o'clock..
