Galway Bay - At 9.15 p.m. on loth July, 1966, the life-boat was requested to convey a seriously ill man to hospital on the mainland. At 10 o'clock the life-boat Mabel Marion Thompson was launched in a westerly breeze and smooth sea. It was high water. The sick man was landed at Rossaveel.
