Life-boat 70-001 - At 6.25 p.m. on 28th August, 1966, three boys were reported stranded on some rocks north of Hartland quay. The 7O-foot life-boat Charles H.

Barrett (Civil Service No. 55) proceeded at 6.30 in a south easterly wind and a choppy sea. The casualties were picked up by the IRB from the life-boat and landed on a nearby beach. The IRB was recovered andthe life-boat returned to Clovelly Roads at 8.10. A helicopter was also called out..
