Torbay, Devon - At 10.51 p.m. on ist August, 1966, a boy was reported to have fallen over the cliff at Sharkham point.

At 11.15 tne life-boat Princess Alexandra of Kent left her moorings with a boarding boat in tow. There was a light north westerly breeze, a calm sea, and it was three hours after high water. The life-boat reached the position given and in the light of a parachute flare the casualty was transferred to her by the boarding boat.

The life-boat conveyed the injured boy to Brixham harbour. She returned to her moorings at 12.35 a.m. on 2nd August..
