Industry II

Dungeness, Kent - At 10. 50 p.m. on 8th August, 1966, a fishing boat needed assistance four and a half miles south east of Dungeness. At 11.5 the life-boat MabelE. Holland was launched in a rough sea and a strong westerly wind. It was 90 minutes after low water. The skipper of the fishing boat Industry II he had a broken arm-was taken ashore to a waiting ambulance while two of the life-boat crew helped man the pumps aboard his leaking boat, whose engines had broken down.

The Industry II, with her other occupant, was towed to Rye harbour, and the lifeboat returned to her station at 5.20 a.m.
