Four Trawlers
North Sunderland, Northumberland - On I5th August, 1966, four trawlers were sheltering in the lea of the Fame Islands awaiting the tide, and the seas were very heavy across the harbour mouth. At 11.30 a.m. the life-boat Grace Darling was launched. There was a light north north westerly breeze and it was three hours to high water. The life-boat stood by until the trawlers were safely in harbour, and returned to her station at 12.40..
