MEDICAL CALL At 7.50 p.m. on 8th March, 1966, the local doctor asked the honorary secretary if the life-boat would convey a patient to South Uist for hospital treatment as no other boat was available. The life-boat The Rankin, on temporary duty at the station, left at 8.20 in a light westerly breeze and a smooth sea. It was low water.
